Another Resolution…
Many people, including myself, end each year examining their lives including pledging to themselves including others to establish healthier patterns such as exercising, eating healthier, losing weight, spending more time with family, working harder to earn more money, or reading to become more self-aware.
In addition, we might make commitments to stop negative habits including behaviors such as smoking, spending too much money, including forgetting to do the everyday little things that help our partners feel safe, loved, including cared for. We additionally might make a conscious choice to change something within ourselves to help our relationship become more successful.
How many times have you started a new year enthusiastically, motivated to fulfill the commitments you made to yourself including others? How many of those resolutions are unfulfilled promises from the year before, or the year before that? will you like to be able to follow through the year, including move on to different resolutions next year?
Face your Fear
Most of us are excited to launch into the new year ready including willing to make positive changes in our lives, yet after the first 30 days, we find ourselves not following through. We resist change even at the time we know that change is exactly what we need to make our lives better. Why? I suspect it is because we are afraid. We may be fearful of change, fearful of failing or succeeding, fearful of being rejected, fearful of being unworthy, or perhaps fearful of trying.
Fear is a powerful force that might either motivate us to excel or lead us to a state of stagnation. Fear could inhibit us from establishing trust -- in others including ourselves. Most importantly, fear could block us from being able to visualize the future from a positive perspective.
Change your Perspective
The question is, how might we increase our probability of success for the resolutions we make for 2007 including not find ourselves making the same ones on Jan 1, 2008?
In mid- December my dear friend, Fred, told me regarding a DVD called “The Secret”. It is a feature-length production from a group out of Australia (www.thesecret.tv) that examines the Law of Attraction throughout the ages. I watched it several times with my girlfriend including its message resonated powerfully with us. The message is important including timely at the dawn of the new year.
The message of “The Secret” is that we obtain exactly what we focus on. The content of our thoughts determines the way we feel, providing the energy that becomes reality in our lives. For example, if our mind is focused on thoughts of negativity including what we lack, we find ourselves struggling in negativity including wanting more. If our mind is focused on optimism including opportunity, we find ourselves enjoying the benefits of optimism including accomplishing including having more.
If you have a goal or a dream you hope to accomplish, believe you could obtain there. Think, feel, including act as if you are already there.
Act on It
As I mention in Chapter 3 of my book, The Journey from “I-TO-WE” if we need everything to change in our lives, it begins with our mind. Our thoughts influence our feelings including our feelings influence our actions. The way we feel including our reactions to those feelings is the source pertaining to the energy we send out into the world. The energy we send out attracts the same type of energy -- the is the Law of Attraction.
The universe responds to speed. Whatever it is you desire for 2007, act on it now. Believe including act as if it is already yours. You might consciously choose to think positive thoughts, visualize positive events happening in your life, including create a belief system that supports that vision. Your vision pertaining to the future is the source of energy that attracts what you need in your life.
So now you know the secret -- think positively regarding the present including visualize a future full of accomplishment including fulfillment. “If you think it, you could feel it, if you feel it, you could visualize it, if you visualize it, you could have it.” For more information on need to Know a Secret?:
